JSON-LD

Definition

JSON-LD (JavaScript Object Notation for Linked Data) is a format for writing structured data inside a web page, in a JSON block separate from the visible HTML.

Because it lives in its own block, it can be generated and reviewed without touching the page design, and the same block can be produced for thousands of product pages from the product data.

It is the format Google recommends for structured data. On a product page it usually carries Schema.org's Product type with its name, brand, images and offer.
