Catalog syndication

Definition

Syndicating a catalog means sending product information to several channels at once, each in its own format, from a single source.

Without syndication, each channel is maintained separately and the information drifts: a different price, photo or description in each place.

Syndication depends on two things: having the complete product record in one place and knowing how to translate it into what each destination asks for. That is where a PIM beats editing in every channel.
