Export

Pick which columns to export and download your catalog as CSV: full, per language, per batch, or in the format each destination expects.

Video transcript

In this video, you'll export your product records to your store as an import-ready CSV.

Exporting costs no credits: you pay to generate, not to export. In Downloads, you pick the columns.

Shortcuts build the selection in one click: Basics, Meta & SEO, or All.

Next to each column is the exact name it will have in the file.

The file includes products with published content, and before you download it, you see how many will come out complete.

If your store erases data when a cell arrives empty, skip the incomplete rows.

Then download the CSV, ready to import.

If you'll repeat this download, save it as a channel.

A channel remembers the columns, their order, the language and the separator each destination expects.

You can also start from a template: the Adobe Commerce one brings the column names that CSV already uses.

“Measure” goes through your catalog and tells you how many products would come out complete in that channel.

It also shows which columns are missing most, and downloads the list of what each product still needs.

Each column can be required or optional, and the channel can export only the complete rows.

And on each product record, the Channels section tells you whether it's complete for each one.

If something's missing, it tells you what and takes you where you can fix it.

That wraps up the “Getting started” series. Next up: “The catalog”.

Exporting costs no credits

The cost is in generating. Once generated, you can export the same description as many times as you want, with whichever columns you want, without paying again.

Choosing columns

The Downloads screen opens with every column selected: remove what you don't need, or use the shortcuts —Basics, Meta & SEO, All, None— which replace the whole selection in one click. Only columns your catalog actually has are offered.

Columns are grouped by origin: identification, categories, generated content, attributes, images (if your media library is active) and the columns of the file you imported. The code next to each option is the exact name that column carries in the file.

Incomplete rows and the preview count

Before downloading, the screen tells you how many products will come out complete with that selection and how many have an empty column.

The “Skip incomplete rows” switch leaves out products missing any of the chosen columns. It matters because some platforms —Shopify, for one— erase the existing value when a cell arrives empty.

If the selection would leave the file empty, the download is blocked and the screen says so beforehand — not after downloading a CSV with no rows.

What you can export

  • Catalog with the columns you choose: a CSV with each product's latest published description.
  • Per language: a language picker when you have several configured.
  • Per batch: only the products of one run, from the batch detail.
  • Per channel: with the columns and format each destination expects.

Channels

A channel stores the name of each column, the order, the language and the multi-select separator (pipe, comma or semicolon) a destination expects —your store, a marketplace, your ERP—. Configure it once and every export comes out ready.

You can save your Downloads selection as a channel in one click (“Save as channel”). A channel can also emit the product images and columns from the original file you imported.

You can also create a channel from a template — Adobe Commerce (every column, with the names that CSV already fixes) or Generic (name, brand, category and content) — or duplicate an existing one with its columns, required flags, language, separator and “complete rows only”. The copy gets a new name and identifier; the original does not change.

Required columns and “complete rows only” per channel

In each channel you can mark which columns are required: a row with no value in any of them counts as incomplete for that destination. The rest are optional and may come out empty without making the row incomplete. By default every column starts as required, which was always the rule; a fixed value always counts as filled.

If you turn on “Export only complete rows” in the channel, the CSV you download from the app, the one served by the public API and the signed feed skip products missing any required column. It is meant for destinations that erase the existing data when a cell arrives empty. When off, the channel exports every product, empty cells included.

Each option's value in each channel

A column that comes from a list attribute —color, shade, size— can write a different value for each option in THAT file: “Rojo” can come out as “Red” for Amazon and as “001” for your ERP, without changing the option in Bruxel. In the channel's column editor, open “Channel values” next to the column, type the destination's value next to each option or paste a two-column table (value in Bruxel and value in the channel), and save the columns.

Anything left without a value comes out as is. If the destination only accepts its own list of values, check “Strict”: an option with no value for the channel comes out empty and the product counts as incomplete in “Measure”, in the missing list and in “only complete rows”, so you don't send something the destination will reject. Options are shown as the file will see them: with the label in the channel's language, if it has one.

A value of its own per channel

If a channel needs different TEXT —a material worded for Amazon, a short description for your ERP—, mark the attribute as “Value per channel” in Attributes (free text only). In the product sheet, the Attributes tab gains “Value for: Master · your channels”: in a channel's tab you write its own value, and until it has one the field says “from master” and that channel's file uses the master. Deleting a channel deletes its own values (the screen says how many before you confirm) and duplicating it copies them.

Category and brand codes

If your ERP asks for data by its code —a subclass's article group and tax code, the brand ID, the supplier's vendor ID—, a channel column can send it: in the column editor, the «Codes (category and brand)» group offers the category code and every extra code your categories and brands have, with names like category_code, category_sat or brand_vendor_id. The product's deepest category is the one that counts.

If your tree has two roots —the merchandising hierarchy and the store one—, pick in the column the «Root» it should read: the path comes out without that root and the codes come from the deepest category in that subtree. That way your store file doesn't carry the SAP hierarchy, or the other way around. While a channel reads a root, that category's code can't be changed or deleted: change it in the channel first.

What a product still needs for each channel

On each product’s page, the “Channels” section tells you whether it comes out complete in each saved channel or which required columns are missing, with a link to where it gets fixed: content, attributes, images or the product data. A product with no published content in the channel’s language is not in that file, and the section says so. It is the same criterion the preview count and “Export only complete rows” use.

In the channel list, “Measure” walks your catalog and tells you how many products would come out complete in that channel, how many have no published content, and which required columns are missing most; “Download gaps (CSV)” gives you the list of incomplete products with what each one is missing, to hand out or fix with an import.

If you work with suppliers, check «Counts toward supplier requirements» on the channel: on their product pages they'll see what's missing for that channel (without its name or its columns) instead of the «Channels» section. A copy of the channel starts unchecked.

A URL for tools that cannot sign in

If a tool can only request an address — Merchant Center or a spreadsheet that imports data — you can create a signed feed in Channels: a URL that serves that channel's CSV without signing in. You see it in full only once; it expires after the period you choose (from 30 days to a year) and you can revoke it instantly if it leaks. Only administrators can create one, and there is a maximum number of active feeds per organization.

What the file contains

The full catalog also includes each product's filterable attributes as columns and the real path of its category; in the selector, those same data appear as columns you can pick. The first column is always the sku, and multi-select fields are separated with | (or the channel's separator). Compatible with Adobe Commerce and any store that imports CSV.
