Related products

Which other products each one is offered with: related, cross-sell and upsell.

Video transcript

In this video, you'll link products that are offered together, by hand or with help from AI.

On the product record, the Related tab has three lists, and each one shows up in a different place in your store.

Related goes on the product page, cross-sell in the cart, and upsell is the higher-value alternative.

Add opens a search by SKU, name or brand, with shortcuts for the same brand or the same category.

They go one way: if you want the other product to point back to this one, check “also the other way around”.

You add several at once, and the list order is what your customers will see.

Or ask the AI from any product record: it only picks from products in your catalog and tells you the cost before it starts.

Each suggestion comes with its reason, and you can uncheck the ones you don't like.

Nothing is linked until you accept it, and you're only charged if it found something to suggest.

And if your file has related_skus, crosssell_skus or upsell_skus, the import links them for you.

In the next video, you'll edit many products at once in the grid.

What it is

A link says two products are offered together. These are the three types your store understands, and each one shows up somewhere different on your site.

  • Related: shown together on the product page.
  • Cross-sell: offered in the cart, as a complement.
  • Upsell: the higher-value alternative to that product.

How to link them

On the product page, the «Related» tab holds the three lists. «Add…» opens a search by SKU, name or brand, with shortcuts for the same brand or the same category. You can tick several and add them at once.

From the catalog, select several products and use «Link with…» to link them all against a single one. It is the quick way to say «these twelve go with this one».

Order matters

The order of each list is the order your customers will see in the store. Change it with the arrows on each row; it saves on its own.

They point one way

A pointing to B does not make B point to A. If you want both, tick «also the other way around» when adding: they are stored as two links, and removing one does not remove the other unless you ask.

It works this way because your store does too, and because upsell is not symmetric: the expensive product is not the upsell of the cheap one.

When importing a file

If your file has the link columns your store exports — related_skus, crosssell_skus or upsell_skus — Bruxel turns them into links on its own. SKUs are separated by a comma or a vertical bar.

  • A cell with SKUs REPLACES that list for that product: whatever you set by hand is lost for that type.
  • An empty cell, or a column that is not there, changes nothing.
  • A SKU that does not exist in your catalog is skipped, and the import summary tells you how many.

How they reach your store

The download file carries them in the same columns your store expects. Check that the file separator matches the one you pick when importing into your store, or it will read the whole list as a single SKU.

Limits

  • Up to 100 products per list and per type.
  • Only products from your own catalog, and a product cannot link to itself.
  • A deleted product disappears from the lists; if you create it again with the same SKU, it comes back.
Who linked what is kept in the organization's activity log, not in the product history.

Kits: a product made of other products

If a product is a kit —a gift set, a bundle of masks—, the “Related” tab of its sheet has “Kit contents”: search the products it includes, give each its quantity, order them and save the contents. A product that is a component says how many kits it is in. A kit has a single level: it cannot go inside another kit.

The import builds kits from the associated_skus column (Magento's name) or kit_components, with “sku=quantity” separated by comma or bar: a cell with data replaces the contents, an empty one touches nothing, and what does not exist is skipped and counted in the summary. The channel emits the contents with the “kit.components” column, and the Adobe Commerce template adds it as associated_skus as soon as you have a kit (Adobe reads it on grouped products).

Suggest with AI

The Related tab of a product has a button that asks the AI which other products go with this one. It costs credits and tells you how many before you start.

  • The AI picks ONLY from products that already exist in your catalog. It never receives product codes, so it cannot invent one you do not have.
  • Each suggestion comes with one line explaining why. You can uncheck the ones you disagree with before adding them.
  • Nothing is linked until you accept it. Dismissing the suggestions changes nothing in your catalog.
You are only charged if the AI found something to propose. If your catalog has too few similar products, it never asks the model and you spend no credits.
